Doreen Bird, PhD, MPH

Dr. Doreen Bird is from Santo Domingo Pueblo, New Mexico. She has her bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s in public health and her doctorate in Justice Studies.

Her professional experience includes Community Based Participatory Research, suicide prevention, evaluation and in-depth knowledge working with Tribal communities in New Mexico & across the country.

Doreen is fluent in her Native language and works hard to engage her children in community and ceremonial activities. Her local interests revolve around protecting water and sacred sites. She has in-depth Indigenous knowledge which she uses to foster partnerships and gain trust with tribal leaders, academics and Tribal community members.
